2023 Shiraz

Our two vineyards deliver quite different expressions of Shiraz, with the rich red loam of our Netherby vineyard adding weight and depth of flavour, and the duplex sandy soils in the Quartz Vein Vineyard contributing aromatics and spicy fruit flavours. We typically harvest in a number of small parcels from each vineyard to create a suite of blending options.

The 2023 vintage was cooler than average, this has amplified the pepper and spice notes in the Shiraz, fortunately we were able to get optimum ripeness which means the wine delivers on the palate as well.  Drinking beautifully on release. That said those with the patience to cellar over 7-8 years will be richly rewarded.
